Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, virgin. At 24 she entered the Monastery of the Visitation of Saint Mary in Paray-le-Monial (France). Our Lord appeared to her many times, asking that a feast be dedicated to his Sacred Heart. It was the Jesuit Saint Claude de La Colombière, her spiritual director, who supported her initiative to make these requests public. She died in 1690, at 43.
