Saint Teresa of Jesus, virgin and Doctor of the Church (†1582). At the age of twenty, he joined the Carmel of Avila. At forty, with the help of Saint John of the Cross, the reform of the Order of Carmel began. He composed several books containing his very high doctrine and mystical experiences.
