Saint Ludmila, martyr (†921). Duchess of Bohemia, baptized by Saint Methodius. She devoted herself to works of charity, building churches, and spreading the faith. When she took charge of educating her grandson, Saint Wenceslaus, Saint Ludmila was murdered by order of her daughter-in-law.
