Saint Conrad Confalonieri (†1351). An Italian nobleman devoted to life's pleasures until, during a hunt, he ordered a forest set on fire, in which a boy burned to death. Deeply shaken by this event, he converted. His wife became a Poor Clare nun, and he became a Franciscan tertiary. He died after forty years of penance and prayer.
