Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, religious (†1231). The daughter of the king of Hungary, she married Louis IV of Thuringia, with whom she had three children. After her husband's death, she left the castle to lead an extraordinary life of charity. She died at 24 while caring for the sick in the hospital of Marburg, which she founded and maintained.
