Optional memorial of Saint Bridget, religious (†1373). Daughter of a Swedish prince, she married Ulf, prince of Närke, and had eight children, including Saint Christina. After a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela with her husband, he decided to become a Cistercian monk, and she founded the Order of the Most Holy Savior. She is the patron saint of Sweden and co-patroness of Europe.
