On August 27, the Parish of Nossa Senhora das Graças in Mairiporã (SP) joyfully welcomed the canonical installation of its new pastor, Fr. Carlos Adriano Santos dos Reis, EP. The Holy Mass was presided over by Bishop Sérgio Aparecido Colombo of Bragança Paulista, in a solemn celebration that officially marked the beginning of his ministry at the head of the community.
The Parish of Our Lady of Grace was established on October 18, 2009, and since its founding has been entrusted to the pastoral care of the priests of the Virgo Flos Carmeli Clerical Society of Apostolic Life, with the collaboration of the Heralds of the Gospel. Its territory extends across a significant portion of the Serra da Cantareira mountain range, encompassing communities in the municipalities of Mairiporã and Caieiras.
Upon assuming the office of parish priest, Fr. Carlos Adriano continues an important evangelizing mission, focused on the spiritual care of the faithful and the administration of the sacraments, making the parish a focal point for Catholic life in the region.
A priest of the Heralds of the Gospel, Fr. Carlos Adriano holds a doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome and has a background in Literature, Philosophy, Theology, and Civil Law. He is a professor at the St. Thomas Aquinas Theological Institute and the Heralds of the Gospel International College, in addition to serving as a canon law consultant, lecturer, and author of articles on theological and legal topics.
The new mission entrusted to the priest thus represents another step in the history of this parish community, called to grow in the sacramental life, in devotion to Our Lady, and in fidelity to the teachings of the Holy Church.
