Turning to Mary as our Universal Mediatrix is not a mere pious inclination embraced by a particular group of Catholics. Rather, it is a practice that the Church has taught and proclaimed in every age and place. Our Lady’s loving mediation between God and humanity complements the supreme mediation of our Divine Redeemer, for such was His express will.
To demonstrate this and to resolve common questions regarding Mary’s universal mediation, this series presents solid doctrine and proofs drawn from Theology, Tradition, and the Magisterium. It also leads participants through illuminating Gospel passages that reveal the scriptural foundations of this Marian doctrine.
All of this is of great importance, since a lack of understanding among the faithful is sometimes exploited by certain academic or ecclesiastical figures whose biased interpretations of Scripture attempt to diminish Mary’s exalted mediating role.
Yet, as God draws good from evil, such errors often inspire a deeper and more fruitful study of the privileges granted by Him to our beloved Mother and Queen. This course is one such study, intended for all Catholics who desire to better understand, love, and defend the greatness of Mary.
