The perfect prayer is that of Mary: Be it done to me according to Your Word! In this second lesson on prayer, Fr. Timothy gives some common objections and difficulties that Catholics have in relation to prayer, and he responds to them. Finally, he also explains what the prayer of slaves of Mary should be like.

5. Love is repaid only with love – The Purgative Life of a Slave of Mary

Suffering is the opportunity God gives us to repay love with love. Suffering could almost be considered as an eighth Sacrament, since it obtains so many graces from God, especially the grace of union with Him. In this lesson, Fr. Timothy talks about the immense value of suffering in our spiritual lives, and how we slaves of Mary should accept the crosses God sends us.

St. Louis de Montfort, in his “True Devotion to Mary”, predicts a future period which he calls the “Reign of Mary” when Jesus and Mary will reign over the whole world. Today, the Catholic Church seems to be following Her Savior on His Via Crucis. But, She will triumph over Her enemies, just like Christ. What will the Church of the future be like, and what role will the slaves of Mary have to play? In this lesson, Fr. Timothy speculates on all this and more.

7. Holy Service – The Family Life of a Slave of Mary

In this lesson, Fr. Timothy focuses on family life and the way to practice the Holy Slavery at home. He first shows how God loves the family, because God is Himself a family! And He goes on to explain how the spirit of Holy Slavery, if put into practice in our families, is a great means of sanctification for its members.

8. An Elevator for “Little Souls” – The Way of Life of a Slave of Mary

In this concluding lesson, Fr. Timothy gives us a very consoling message about the great love God has for us, in having chosen us to be loving slaves of His Holy Mother, and also explains to us that the “Little Way of Spiritual Childhood” – a way of trust and love that was taught by St. Thérèse of Lisieux – is the best way to live our lives as slaves of Mary!

About the professor

Fr. Timothy Joseph Ring, EP

Fr. Timothy Joseph Ring is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. From a deeply religious and Catholic family, he began his vocational journey at the relatively young age of 16, when he consecrated himself to Jesus through Mary, following the method of St. Louis de Montfort.

After 20 years as a consecrated layman in the Heralds of the Gospel, he was ordained as a priest in 2006. He has served the community in missions in different parts of the globe: in North and South America, as well as in Europe.

His native language is English, but he also speaks Italian, Spanish and Portuguese fluently.
