Members of the Heralds of the Gospel actively participated in the commemorations in honour of Our Lady of the Assumption, in Paraguay.

On August 5, there was a procession to transfer the image of the Blessed Virgin from her chapel in the National Pantheon of Heroes to the Cathedral of Asunción (photos 1 and 2), followed by a Holy Mass presided over by Cardinal Adalberto Martínez Flores, Metropolitan Archbishop (photos 3 and 4).

On the eve of the ceremony, a statue of the Patroness was inaugurated on the capital’s main avenue, with the presence of the Cardinal Archbishop, the Apostolic Nuncio to Paraguay, Archbishop Vincenzo Turturro, and the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña Palacios, accompanied by the first lady and by his cabinet (photos 5 and 6).

On this day, the vigil Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Turturro, was attended by a delegation from the St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, in the city of Limpio, entrusted to the Heralds (photo 7).

The solemn procession and Eucharist on August 15 were presided over by Cardinal Martínez Flores, at the cathedral (photo 8).
