Upon hearing the news of Our Lord's appearance to the Apostles after the Resurrection, doubt seized Thomas, the only one who was absent, and he said that he would only believe if he could touch Jesus' wounds. Surprisingly, the Lord appeared before him and, instead of rebuking him, asked him to touch the wounds with his finger.

In a way, throughout history, God's attitude toward unbelief has been repeated. And instead of applying a deserved punishment, the divine dispositions of Our Lord lead him to reaffirm the certainties of Religion through new miracles.

An example of this prodigious action on the part of God can be found in the countless Eucharistic miracles that the Holy Church preserves as one of its most precious treasures. Even today, the faithful can draw on them to strengthen their faith and grow in love for God and the Most Holy Eucharist.
