Fr. Joshua Alexander Sequeira, EP

Fr. Joshua Alexander Sequeira, EP, holds a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum – Rome). A native of Mumbai, India, he began his vocational journey after encountering the Heralds of the Gospel during his university studies.

His great passion—both in missionary work in countries such as Brazil, Mozambique, and South Africa, and in his theological teaching—is to communicate the joy of God’s love, experienced profoundly through his first contact with the founder of the Heralds, Msgr. João Scognamiglio Clá Dias. He currently lectures at the São Tomás de Aquino Theological Institute, coordinates the Heralds’ English-language publications, and carries out intense pastoral work, especially among the underprivileged.

Biography

Fr. Joshua Alexander Sequeira, EP, was born in Mumbai (India) on December 1, 1980. During his undergraduate studies in Physics, he came into contact with the Heralds of the Gospel and began participating actively in their evangelizing mission, which deeply shaped his vocation.

He later moved to Brazil, where he completed his philosophical and theological formation within the institution. He was ordained a deacon at the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome and, in 2008, was ordained to the priesthood at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary in Caieiras, São Paulo.

He pursued higher academic studies, obtaining a Master’s degree in Theology from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Medellín) and a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum – Rome), with a strong emphasis on the theological tradition of the Church.

Throughout his priestly ministry, he has carried out extensive missionary work in several countries, including Brazil, Mozambique, Paraguay, Colombia, Canada, and South Africa, dedicating himself especially to the human, cultural, and religious formation of youth.

Within the Heralds of the Gospel, he has contributed to the development and coordination of major publications, including the institution’s international magazine. He is also involved in translating and organizing works of the founder, Msgr. João Scognamiglio Clá Dias, helping expand their reach in the English-speaking world.

He currently serves as a professor of Dogmatic Theology at the São Tomás de Aquino Theological Institute and is actively engaged in pastoral work, especially at the Parish of Our Lady of Graces in Caieiras, São Paulo.

His trajectory is marked by the union of solid theological formation, missionary zeal, and dedication to evangelization, striving to communicate the living experience of God’s love in all his activities.
