“Is there a secret to becoming a saint?” This is a question often asked of the Heralds of the Gospel during their missions around the world.

Is there truly a secret that helps us persevere, overcome sin, and attain Heaven?

Here is the answer given by the great saint and theologian Saint Louis de Montfort:

“Just as in nature there are secrets enabling us to do certain natural things quickly, easily, and at little cost, so in the spiritual life there are secrets which enable us to perform works rapidly, smoothly, and with facility” (True Devotion to Mary, no. 82).

Why do so many souls strive for holiness, yet make little progress? Because they have not discovered this secret: the Secret of Mary.

This “Secret of Mary,” taught by St. Louis de Montfort, is a method of consecrating oneself to Jesus through the hands of Mary. In his own words, it is the “safest, easiest, shortest, and most perfect way” to unite ourselves completely to Jesus and become saints (cf. True Devotion to Mary, no. 55).
